The first step in using Azure DevOps is to create a free account, assuming you do not already have a paid account from your organisation. This account gives you £150 credit to use within the first 30 days and then you can continue to use limited resources for free for 12 months.
Browse to https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/free/ and click Start free.
Sign in with your Microsoft account, if you do not have one then you can click the link to create one.
Enter any personal information as required.
Verification is carried out via a code or call to your mobile phone and credit/debit card validation, there is no charge made to the card unless you upgrade to a paid-for service in the future.
The final step is to agree to the terms and conditions. After this, the account will be created for you and you will be able to access the Azure Portal at https://portal.azure.com/#home.
